Hi all, It's been a little while since I posted some news for the front page. The last few days I've been working away trying to get more of AP ready for Alpha testing which is slowly progressing, I plan to have some more news on this in the next week or so... in the meantime I also had my last day at work, and they videoed the 'gift' they gave me, so for a change today's post will not be of any anime, but of me and my 'gift' Enjoy

Hi all, It's been 2 weeks since the last bit of news in this thread/on the front page. The alpha site is going along nicely (we're ironing out some silly bugs as we go along) and we are now looking at starting some Closed Beta testing in the middle to late August. If you'd like to be a part of this (and get to see some of the nice stuff before everyone else  then please let me know (by a PM or any other way you have to contact me  ) If you have any ideas of features you'd like to see, please let us know, we'll try and fit them into our building plan (and you never know, it might be easier to add in than you think) Since I'm listening to this, though I might add a vid of Rah-Xephon's Starting, I so do love this song Enjoy. Hi all, It's been a month since the last bit if news (mostly due to me being offline and working on more AP) We're hoping to have the closed-beta site up fair shortly. Why a closed-beta?It's just so we can limit the number of people accessing the site to members and a small number at that, people are welcome to be added to the closed-beta test group but please be warned we're keeping the number low to avoid getting too much feedback in one go. For those of you that haven't had the pleasure of seeing the look for AnimePenguin, I've been busy a while Zuz wasn't looking I took some screenshots and obscured them slightly, so as not to spoil the surprise. Soon as Closed-Beta is up, I'll let you know. Skip.

Hi all, As part of the on going creation of AnimePenguin it will be necessary for me to shut down the old AnimePenguin Beta site, I plan to turn of the site on Sunday the 6th of September. On the plus side, on the 6th of September I also plan to upload the new Closed Beta Site that I have been working on for the past few months. If this Closed Beta test goes well, we shall look at launching the full AnimePenguin site on the 17th of October.... so mark the date in your calendars. So sit tight, and start to get ready, not long to go now...

Hi again all, I've started the process that should allow me to shut down the old beta test site. If you need to change your password (or if you want to register with the site) you can now do that once again via the forums. If you have any trouble, please let me know straight away, as it probably means I missed something (and since it's taken me 2hrs to get just that done I won't be surprised if i have missed something... lol) Anyway keep an eye out, the Closed-beta Test site will be coming online in the next few days. Hi all, It's been over a month since the last news update, during this time I've had some successes (and quite a few failures) in attempting to get the AnimePenguin Site live. Due to the complex nature of life, the universe and everything it's not gone anywhere near to plan... however... this might be about to turn around. The closed-beta has still not been activated (for many reasons), but to combat this I plan to turn off the old Beta site and open up the main www.animepenguin.net with the closed-beta release of AnimePenguin. What does this mean? Well it means that there will finally be a site to look at (even if it's not fully completed) and I'll be able to spend more time attempting to build/fix bugs and not have to worry that I may break the old beta site So keep an eye out over the next few days, as this could go up at anytime (since my schedule is hard to predict I'm not gonna try and set a date...lol) Skip.

Hi all, This weekend I will be starting to 'turn on' parts of the site on the www.animepenguin.net site. This weekend should hopefully see the first real test of the new News section. Depending on how well that goes I will start to turn on other parts of the main site while checking all is good and healthy. After this weekend I will attempt to draw up a rough time/guide line of what features are currently being built and when I hope to turn them on on the website. Please bear with this long release timeline, sadly my available time is really low at the moment (and isn't helped by playing the odd bit of Dragon's Age either  ) Anyway hope to have some stuff up very soon.... Skip.

Just a small warning, the updates from last week (29th November) will be going up online tomorrow night on the Main site. For a few hours the main site maybe offline, I'll post a message here (and on the twitterfeed) to warn you when that is due to happen. Currently I'll looks like it will be around 2000 GMT. It's been a lil while since a news update was posted here, so here it is Tonight, I'll be updating more of the site/servers backend stuff, (most notably adding in a new database instance to allow for easier testing of the site, many thanks for the idea Applicable Ed:who is the most awesomeness person in the world wide web) Depending on how 'nice' the update goes, the site maybe offline for a few minutes tonight, around 1900 GMT [That's 2000 BST/UK time], I'll try and keep the downtime to a minimum. (updates of what's happening will be on twitter @ http://twitter.com/animepenguinweb )
